DEPOK, January 18 and 25, 2025 – GREENLENTIK as a SOCIAL ENTERPRISE initiated a workshop entitled “TRASH TURNED INTO TREASURE” on Saturday, January 18 and 25, 2025 at Omah Teduh, Cinere, Depok, West Java. The purpose of the workshop is to provide education, training, and assistance to women who want to work independently and single parents who are struggling as heads of households. In addition, the workshop also aims to process waste, especially plastics and textiles, as an effort to save the environment from the impact of increasingly emergency waste.

The workshop on January 18, 2025 was a Batch 1 workshop attended by 5 female participants. The participants had great motivation to learn how to process waste into products that have selling value, or commonly known as “Upcycled Products”.

Then continued with the Batch 2 Workshop on January 25, 2025 with 10 single parent participants free of charge. As the head of the household, a single parent woman carries out a fairly heavy function to fulfill all the needs of life, both for herself and her children. Therefore, this workshop was held as part of the support for these great women.

We provide initial support by sharing knowledge, experience, and training. After that we continue with mentoring. The participants were given education on the dangers of plastic and textile waste for the environment. After that, participants were given an understanding of how to sort out the waste to be cleaned and processed into “Upcycled Products.”

The “Upcycled Products” taught are cosmetic pouches that are a combination of plastic and textile waste. The results of this work become a business opportunity for women who are able to help the household economy as well as opportunities for green business development / sustainable business / environmentally friendly business.

Rini as the CEO of GREENLENTIK said “from a small environment that is successfully educated, trained, fostered, and accompanied through sustainable workshops will be able to create agents of change for sustainability.
